Running a Sex Offender Check in Antrim County
The Michigan State Police registry hub is the first official channel for an Antrim County sex offender check. Those channels do different jobs. PSOR shows information that Michigan law makes public. The sheriff has a local law-enforcement role, but Antrim County does not publish a separate county registry or a confirmed registration-counter schedule. Call before planning an in-person visit. None of these tools replaces the court file for the charge, plea, judgment, or sentence behind a registration duty.

Antrim County PSOR and SOR
PSOR is not the complete law-enforcement SOR. Michigan State Police keeps public and nonpublic registration information in the internal system, while the public Antrim County registry search exposes only the internet-publishable portion. A missing public profile does not prove that no registration information exists. MSP lists several possible reasons for nonpublication, including juvenile adjudication, death, nonresidency, a conviction that is not a listed offense, judicial removal, a set-aside conviction, HYTA status, or completion of the registration period.
Some older cases may also fall outside the public system based on the conviction date and later justice-system involvement. Victim information is never a public PSOR field. These limits matter when an Antrim County sex offender check returns no match. The sound conclusion is narrow: no matching public profile was found with those inputs at that time. Do not turn that result into a claim about every court, state, or nonpublic record.
Searching the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry
Open the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry search and choose the route that fits what is known. A name search requires both first and last name, and partial names are accepted. A registration number or MDOC number can be used instead. For an area search, combine a street address with a city, county, or ZIP, or select Antrim County and use the neighborhood map. Antrim County Registry Radius Map
The neighborhood map can answer a different question than a name lookup. It accepts five radius choices, from one-quarter mile through five miles. Start with a precise street and local place input, then widen the radius only when the purpose calls for a broader Antrim County view. Victim information is not released. The profile is also not the full Antrim County criminal court file. For pleadings, disposition, and sentence, use the court of conviction and the official Antrim County criminal case record route.
Antrim County Registry Status Terms
A status label tells how a person currently fits the registration system. It does not announce a new offense and should not be treated as a risk score. MSP defines several terms that can appear in an Antrim County registry result. Reading them in plain terms prevents an address or custody label from being stretched past its actual meaning.

When a label seems stale or conflicts with current facts, do not confront the person shown. Send the concern to law enforcement. MSP publishes 517-241-1806 for registry questions, while an apparent emergency belongs with 911.
Registration Requirements and Levels in Michigan
Michigan assigns Tier I, Tier II, or Tier III based on the listed offense under MCL 28.722. A tier sets general duration and verification duties. It is not an individualized prediction of future conduct. Always use the current statute to classify a listed offense rather than guessing from a short charge title.

Under MCL 28.725, specified changes generally must be reported within three business days. Residence, domicile, legal name, and higher-education changes require in-person reporting. Some temporary lodging, vehicle, and telephone changes may be submitted in person, by mail, or by drop-off. The program also has a one-time $50 initial registration fee and $50 annual fees until a $550 cumulative cap is reached.

Antrim County Registry Email Alerts
PSOR's Track Offender function can send change notices for a selected public profile. From the detail page, enter an email address twice, acknowledge the terms, and register. MSP says the confirmation email should arrive within 24 hours. Alerts may follow a move, a change to the statutory employment record, or enrollment in school. This is a follow-up tool, not a substitute for checking the current profile.
Use care when turning alerts off. MSP warns that unregistering an email through the separate Email Alerts area removes that address from all registry notifications for every tracked person and place. An Antrim County user who wants to end one alert without losing others should read the current interface directions first. Keep notifications private and use them for lawful safety planning.
